In order to create a low lying foreground carpet glosso needs about 2 4 watts per gallon or 0 9 1 watts per liter. Most of the time increasing light intensity and increasing co2 are enough to keep glosso low. Many people have asked me how to start an emersed set up so i thought it d be best to go ahead and do this write up. The only issue that most aquascapers has with glosso is how to keep it growing low.

It can grow emersed or submersed in muddy and flooded areas on lakeshores and river banks in its natural habitat. Glosso glossostigma elatinoides glossostigma elatinoides commonly known as glosso. Glossostigma elatinoides is a low growing aquarium carpet plant that looks like a lawn. Failure to illuminate glosso properly will cause this plant to grow taller instead of sideways and eventually the plant will disintegrate.

Glossostigma elatinoides is best placed in the foreground as a carpet plant.
